WHAT'S GOOD?
Earthy, with a heart of spice and floral
Very fresh and bright wild-type fruits, with a slight spritz
Notes from James: "Grenache, Mclaren Vale, Ryan Rd in Sellicks (90%) farmed by Jim Zerella and managed by Dave Gartelman. The Ryan Rd vineyard is rich red clay interspersed with schist and ironstone. This fruit is destemmed and fermented for 5 weeks on skins.
The other vineyards are treated similarly. McLaren Flat Lillies (5%) farmed by Karen Jahn. Peter Cahil (5%) Clarendon farmed by Fiona Wood. Lillies is white beach sand while Clarendon is ironstone. The pressings of these wines are added to the Ryan Rd.
All stored in tank for 8 months.
Bright, floral, raspberry nose but a long and focussed pallet with notes of Arneis and amaro."
