PARTIDA CREUS
Partida Creus may be recognized for its iconic two-letter labels, but the true essence of this winery lies far beyond its branding. Founded by Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori in Bonastre, a small village in Catalonia's Baix Penedès wine region in Spain, the winery is celebrated not only for making vibrant and fresh natural wines but also for playing a vital role in reviving a viticultural heritage that was on the verge of disappearing.
Originally from Piedmont, Italy, Antonella and Massimo moved to Bonastre in 2007. Upon arrival, they discovered abandoned vineyards overgrown with indigenous grape varieties that had long been forgotten. With a deep respect for nature and a mission to restore these neglected varietals, they revitalized the vines and transformed Partida Creus into a living museum of Catalan grape varieties like Vinyater, Sumoll, Garrut, and Cartoixá Vermell, among many others. Wines at Partida Creus are unfined and unfiltered, offering a pure, unadulterated expression of the grapes' character and bringing the terroir of Penedès back into the spotlight
In the vineyards, everything is done without herbicides or synthetic fertilizers, with the help of two donkeys, Orazio and Vincenza. With a strong emphasis on traditional, artisanal, and ecological practices, Partida Creus believes that wine is nothing more than fermented grape juice—deeply connected to the land, natural, and true to its origins. Although they began with organic and biodynamic certifications, in 2017, they chose to withdraw, feeling that the regulatory agency no longer represented their values, as it had become more focused on bureaucracy and less on effective control of agricultural practices and product quality. Instead, their commitment to natural methods and the authenticity of their wines serves as their true certification, with all wine analyses available for those seeking transparency.
